In Madhya Pradesh, India, 11 people have died thanks to alcohol poisoning. Six more people are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The incident happened in the dark on Monday (January 11).
According to Indian media, the incident happened in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday night. Three of the dead were from Pahawali and eight from Monpur village. Both the villages are about 20 km faraway from the district town. Seven sick people are admitted to the nearby Gawali Hospital. The government has directed the concerned to research the incident.
Police said they died after drinking poisonous spirits. Several police units are deployed within the area. The operation is underway to arrest those involved in selling illegal liquor.
