At least 15 people, including police, were injured during a clash between two sides at Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria over a trivial incident.

The incident happened at around 2pm on Tuesday (January 12) when a CNG autorickshaw collided with a truck at Baratalla village in Sadar union of the upazila.

Police and eyewitnesses said Milon Miah of Sheikh Bari in Baratalla village collided with a CNG-powered autorickshaw at Kausar Miah of Ansar Ali Bari within the same village around 2pm on Tuesday. Kauser beat Milon Mia with this. As a results of this incident, Ansar Ali and therefore the people of Sheikh Bari got involved during a bloody clash with local weapons. a minimum of 15 people, including police, were injured within the hour-long clash.

Later, Ashuganj police personnel reached the spot, fired five rounds of shotgun and brought things in check at around 3 pm. However, the names of the injured weren’t known.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashuganj police headquarters Jabed Mahmud said police rushed to the spot and fired five rounds of shotgun after receiving information about the clash. A constable named Mohiuddin was injured within the incident. Police have arrested four people from the scene for his or her alleged involvement within the incident.

He added that police are deployed at the scene to avoid further clashes. However, no case was registered at the police headquarters till tonight .
